Marcin Gortat z każdym meczem w Phoenix coraz lepszy. Dziś w nocy załapał drugie double double z rzędu:
"My mind has to be set up different than I'm used to. I made those adjustments a couple games ago. I'm trying to be more aggressive and use my chances. I'm still focused on playing defense. The biggest factor for me is getting rebounds. I'm 100 percent sure it'll come back and I'll rebound the way I used to - one every three minutes."
Z Cleveland zagrał 27 minut, rzucił 16 punktów, zebrał 12 piłek, 3 razy zablokował rywala. Bilans Suns z Marcinem an parkiecie +24 - najlepszy w drużynie.
Gortat: "Four wins in a row is a great feeling and I believe we are getting better defensively. There are one or two situations we are erasing mistakes each game. I believe we are doing way better. We're going to have a great team."
Gortat spędza na parkiecie coraz więcej minut, Suns zaczęli w końcu wygrywać. Zmiana pierwszego centra wydaje się kwestią czasu.
PS. Paul Coro z Arizona Republic tłumaczy, dlaczego jeszcze nie nastąpiła:
"As for the starting center, it will remain Lopez. If he is not performing well, he will simply get the Jarron Collins minutes -- start each half for a few minutes and sit the rest of the night. When Lopez is decent, it's a boost for the team. When he is not, the idea is to have Gortat at the ready so that there is an uptick of some sort. If it was the other way around and Gortat struggled early, Lopez is not the change-of-pace center that Gortat can at least be with his energy. The Suns have tried to get Lopez going early in games but it might have been to a fault at Cleveland. He took six of the team's 12 shots in the first six minutes of Wednesday's game, making two as the Suns fell behind. He looked great on a post spin move and scored again inside but also opened by airballing a hook and then consecutively missed another hook, missed a dunk and missed a turnaround. His rebound rate is 69th among 86 NBA centers, some of which barely play. This month, he is averaging 1.9 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game and has been outrebounded by Steve Nash in each of the nine games."
